The Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education and The University of Electro-Communications cooperate to present the Science Research Class for Tokyo Metropolitan high school students. This class is designed to spend several months investigating a topic of science phenomena, and students choose their own theme for their research. High school students learn about laboratory experiments, and then participate in group discussions, poster presentations, and oral presentations. Three days of intensive classes are scheduled in the summer. The class began in 2020 and has been open for 4 years. 69 high school students have completed the class. Nearly all students are satisfied with the class in post questionnaires. Two or three themes are presented at a conference outside the campus every year, and 2 students were enrolled in this university. |
