 note = {Science Cafe Chofu is introduced. This event is conducted by Center for Community Relations in UEC from 2017. This is also hosted by Chofu City and cohosted by Megurokai (the UEC alumni association). Science Cafe Chofu includes a lecture on some topics on science and technology, as well as discussion among participants in a homely atmosphere having tea and snack. Lecturers are from UEC and the other universities and institutes near Chofu. From 2021, this event is held through online, and the number of participants who live in remote areas or go to high school is increasing. Science Cafe Chofu is an important event for community relations in UEC. To promote understanding of modern science and technology by citizens is believed to be one of the roles of UEC and the other universities.},
