<dc:description>This paper introduces a mathematical puzzle book, Gobanjo, rediscovered on 2008. The radiocarbon dating on this book suggests that this puzzle book had been written on 15th century, which could be the oldest mathematical book in Japan. The Gobanjo shows us 6 types of puzzle utilizing go stones. The author summaries and translates these 6 types of puzzle into modern Japanese, i.e. Hyakugogenzan (Chinese Remainder Theorem), Shihoseki (counting the sides of square), Tonitarazu (addition and subtraction), Sassadate (simultaneous equations), Metsukeishi (guessing a hidden go stone), and Jugodate (3×3 magic square). Hitherto, as we had some knowledge about these puzzles except Metsukeishi, the author presumes the reconstruction of Metsukeishi utilizing the transposed matrix.</dc:description>
